PureGrain Audio started as a passion project which authored many articles on the indie-rock scene in Canada and abroad. It was to be an extensive site, carrying many hundreds of articles, and was therefore built with the Textpattern CMS.

This allowed for the authors and contributors to have their own accounts, and create content that was then reviewed and published for release when ready. A strong social media integration was built in, as that was a primary channel for the site to gain traction.

The design itself had to support large amounts of various content, while not getting overcrowded. As such, a “newspaper” like layout with multiple columns was ideal.
