Android Open Kang Project

AOKP was a very special site for me to develop. The project is a custom ROM for Android devices, and the team was roughly 20 members strong. My role once being accepted was to develop a website where (over 1 million!) users would come to obtain the ROM for their specific device.

I came up with a very engaging design based on the pink and blue colour “unicorn” scheme that the team had prior. I implemented a means of filtering devices based on manufacturer, and provided a wealth of information about the ROM itself, including screenshots and links to the source code, etc.

It was featured on Android Police with a nice writeup. I learned CSS animations at this stage of my career, and created a “swagger” mode which caused fedoras and the logo to swirl upwards.
